Making Cording

Since my fall I haven't been able to do too much of any crafting, because of the aches and pains and bruising. Truly, I've just been resting a bunch. Re-bandaging my arm every day. Another week or so and I get my stitches out. But I've been taking it easy, and not moving it around too much, because I want the tear in my flesh to heal well. So I got these foam things off of Amazon. They have round ones and square ones so I got a four pack with two of each in it. And I watched some youtubes of course, and here's what I've come up with. Using scraps. It keeps me busy and I'll either get jewelry fixings and make bracelets out of it, or I'll hang the strips up, and clip my little amigurumis to them.

The Fall

I took one big horrible fall!!! Tripped over a cinderblock in the dark on our front walkway. I know this knee looks pretty bad, and sorry for the gruesome picture, but this is not the worst of it. This is actually the least of my wounds. My arms went into some bushes that I had just trimmed back, and my left arm required four stitches. My left leg only got torn up further down my shin from the cinderblock. I also scraped up one elbow, and banged my forehead pretty hard, and broke my glasses. So bleeding heavily from my left arm and trying to patch up both my legs I finally conceded and went to the ER. Feeling much better now but I'm going to miss all of Tour de Fleece this year. 😪 But I am resting now, so I guess that's a good thing. 🤷

Keeping Busy

It's been a really busy month and I haven't updated in a bit but thought I'd pop in with a few photos of what's going into the D&D shop locally. I'm making hats for the homeless here in Pueblo that will be given away in October thru early 2024, and I'm using up a lot of the small balls of leftovers making keychains and wristlets and some more of those mobius toys! All of this sells out so quick but I don't want to burn myself out only making a few things. But I'm keeping so busy here! The weather is getting warmer and we're going to be into full blown summer weather soon and I will be so happy to have smaller projects to work on like this!

Little Things

Some things I'm working on recently. Some keychains. These are the shorter ones and then I've been making them also in a loop wristlet style also. Those are selling really well in the local D&D shop to where I can't keep any inventory. They usually sell out by the end of the week, especially if I make them, in Harry Potter colors or Magic the Gathering colors. Here's the youtube video I followed for this pattern. Pretty simple!

And here are some Marble Mazes! I had seen some square fabric sewn ones, that just pushed back and forth over four or five rows. But I adapted the pattern to be in the round, and then looked up some paper mazes in coloring books that we had lying around, and made these basic pathways. I put two marbles in the bigger one and one marble in the smaller one. People seem to like the smaller one more though because it really fits good in the palm of your hand.

Another one of the youngins gets a full time job!!!! I am so stinking proud of him!!! I only got three quick shots of him going in on his third day of work, and this is the funniest one, because the photo bomber in the back ground seemed just as proud. lol

More Flowers

More pretty flowers! I'm on a facebook group Random Acts of Crocheted Kindness where they make lots of small little things and add a blurb with it, and leave these items for people to find randomly. So I've been making some flowers and Worry Worms and a few little hearts and gnomes for people to find. It's fun leaving them in random places and never knowing who is going to find them. Here's the link to the youtube video where I learned to make these.

Fidget toys!!!

I've started making and selling these fidget toys!!! The first picture is the little mobius toys that you pull continuously from the center. Oh my goodness, I love them so much! I'm selling them currently at a local D&D gaming shop and they love them in the bright colors! Something you can just keep in your pocket, and fiddle with when your stressed out.

And in this picture I've made some of these small marble pushers. Once again a nice little thing to keep in your pocket and you just push the marble inside around and around the circle. It's almost like playing with playdough, where you just squish it around and around. I'm working on some bigger marble pushers where you actually push the marble around a maze inside the crocheted piece. Not much harder than making a pot holder, and just adding the maze pattern and the marble inside.
