The Most Used Gift...

Every once in a while I get a gift that is absolutely just the right thing!!! I would say a good 80% of the time dh gets me electronical gifts that improve things here and there, but it's not really a thing I really want!!! This year he really did good though, and got me this lovely present!!!

It's a new and much deeper yarn bowl, and it works like a dream!!!! I've been using it all day today and I do not think it will ever leave my desk!!!💖 Plus the fact that I know he got it on sale, I think makes it even more lovely! I am such a penny pincher! lol

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!

I hope everyone is staying warm, and having a wonderful day with family and friends!!! We are having a super small and simple Christmas here. Just enjoying several days off and rest, and a little bit warmer weather for a couple of days!!! Not quite enough to melt all the snow, but warm enough to not have to haul so much wood! Last night we made boodles of cookies! Oatmeal raisin, M&M cookies, and peanut butter cookies! Emily put together her gingerbread house, which has a whole made up story unto itself. 😂

We had Christmas music playing, and it was just an awesome good time with the kiddo's!!! 💞 My oldest son got home from work, and had incredible stories of Christmas Eve loss prevention at the store he works at!

Today I've gotten out some new yarns and I'm starting yet another small project. Also working on the scrappy granny blanket. Merry Christmas to you all!!!!

Little Projects

Working on a few little things. This little kitty cat book mark. There's a pattern on Youtube for it that showed up in my sidebar. My youngest dd is writing lyrics and journaling a bit, and I thought this would be a cute thing to make her want to actually open the books shes writing in more. I love the little collar and the bow on the tail! So cute!

Another fun thing I've found to make (I've made four of them now) and showed to a crochet group, and they're liking it too, are these fidget toys! Again the pattern is on Youtube, just showed up in my sidebar. I love these kind of toys, and it is so super simple to make! I made mine with Red Heart yarn and it turned out great! You really don't need much stuffing for them at all. Could probably even just put a cotton ball or two in each section if you didn't have fluff.

Yesterday, I started a granny square afghan out of my leftover hat scraps from this years hat making. It is going to be wildly scrappy! I really can't see making another scarf from all the bits. I already have four of them and working on a fifth from last years baby yarn scraps also. So, a huge scrappy granny square throw will be this years thing! Here it is as of yesterday...

I've added about another 8 rows to it already tonight, mostly blues, greens, and a dark variegated color. It measures about 24 inches across and I'm not even 1/4 the way through my scraps. I'm going to see if I can get it to around 52 inches square. That would be a nice throw.

The Purge

I did a thing two days ago. I have not sent out much of any of my knit and crocheted items for about a year or more, and it all has just been a massive clog in everything for me. So, last week I spotted our local hospital has a warm weather drive box, and it was a ~Eureka Moment~!!! When I got home, I went through a bin stuffed full of things, and made sure all the ends were woven in and everything was good, and two days ago I was able to purge out... 3 sets of mittens, 19 sets of fingerless mitts, 36 adult hats (I'm specifying adult because there are still dozens of baby and toddler hats to give away also), 3 ear warmers, 4 scarves, and 1 crocheted little purse.  It feels soooooo good to be able to have it all gone in one huge go, and not have to sort things, and worry about mailing out money! I know it'll go to people who need it. And no, I didn't get pictures of it all. A lot of it is stuff I've shown here or there over the year.

I'm working my way back. I'm going to be sharing all the knits, and crochets, and weaving, and yarny things again. I've missed it. I hope if anyone is still around that you'll stick around and comment!!! I miss the interaction with all my yarny friends!!!

Here's a recent thing I made. Little dragons! We've been playing World of Warcraft Dragonflight, and this pattern came across my youtubes (it's for T-rexs but on her blog she shows how to make it into a dragon), and I started making them and couldn't stop for a bit. They are so quick and easy, and everybody here wanted one! So you know me...  Many whelps!!! lol

So, here I am hoping to get back into all of this blogging.... maybe videoing and tiktoking in the New Year. We'll see. My daughter is teaching me to video edit things. Anyway...

Making Cording

Since my fall I haven't been able to do too much of any crafting, because of the aches and pains and bruising. Truly, I've just been...
