It's Been a Rough Month

So, I'm not gonna lie. It's been a rough few weeks. The weather has been wild, and very very cold. Just when we think we're warming up, boom, down to the single digits again. Our wood pile ran out early this year. So we've been running to get wood pretty much on a bi-weekly basis. Four hundred to six hundred pounds at a time, and we move it to our car, and then to either the house or the shed. All of the extra work is like moving around 1800 extra pounds of stuff around every other week just to be able to stay warm til this winter is over. I'm not complaining though, because I could use the workout to burn off a little bit of Christmas cookie weight. lol

This past week our oldest cat died also. Of course she died on a day that was close to single digits, and then the day after was below freezing and snowing, so we couldn't get a grave dug for her til the third day. I have cried and cried over it all, and I am just out of tears now. May she rest in piece. This was about four hours before her death. Her favorite box and blanket, sleeping on my jeans. :'(

I have finished so many projects. The sweater, the shawl, a few dozen hats that I need to pop on my Etsy store. I hit a 1000 followers on my TikTok, and have just not been able to post a video since, but I did get my Esty link up there. I just need to find a hot minute to make a few quick 15 second videos, and edit them. Easier said than done.

Here's another thing I've been working on since Mama cat died. I needed a happy distraction. I've been making these crocheted elephants. They most likely will be listed on the shop soon too. Here's the pattern, and I made some modifications because I can't ever leave a pattern alone. lol I added an extra two rows of crochet between the legs, because it seemed extra short for an elephant. And the trunk on the last row I did, single crochet one, and then sc2tog three times, to give the trunk a little more up turned look than the straight hanging down look of the original. It turned out really nice. I might look into getting some of those squeakers and rattles for them from Amazon.

Anyway, I hope to get on here a lot more regular now. Spring is coming. I'll for certain have garden pictures. I've crocheted some pretty dragonflies also that I will have to share! Hope everyone is doing well.

Making Cording

Since my fall I haven't been able to do too much of any crafting, because of the aches and pains and bruising. Truly, I've just been...
